Rejuvenate

28 November–5 December 2025

This 8-day retreat will be an opportunity to turn inwards while also enjoying time in nature and with others from our special community. We will focus on developing practice-based understanding while also having plenty of time to rejuvenate.

This retreat is for Iyengar yoga students of all levels who have the intention to develop their practice in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The venue

People visit from all over the world to meditate and enjoy the peace of this remarkable destination. Wangapeka is a purpose built retreat centre, with fresh clean air and beautiful vistas. It is very quiet and ideal for respite, stress relief and deep meditation. We practice in the beautiful 'Whare' meditation hall and enjoy dining and community time in the main hall. The cabins, rooms and huts dotted about the extensive grounds are delightful, as are the gardens.

Many visitors comment on Wangapeka's peaceful and healing atmosphere. This is undoubtedly due to the natural beauty of the place and the great amount of meditation that has occured here over the decades. Possibly even more important though, is the fact that so many people have given freely from the heart to build a place that would be of benefit to all beings.

The Retreat

Yoga
We begin the day with breakfast followed by our three hour morning session which will include walking and sitting meditation and two hours of asana practice. The two hour afternoon sessions have a quieter focus which will include inversions, hip openers, forward bends, pranayama (mindful breathing practices) and restorative asana. Our Wangapeka Retreats tend to have a more reflective quieter feel than some of our other retreats and an evening sit will be part of the schedule.

Between practice sessions there will plenty of time for resting, exploring the beautiful walking tracks or spending time by the river (maybe swimming!).

Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked with love by the wonderful Chrystal. Delicious, healthy, mostly organic vegan and gluten-free cuisine. Filtered water, coffee, a wide range of teas, a fruit basket and snacks are provided throughout the retreat.

Accommodation
Seven nights’ single accommodation in cabins, rooms and huts.
